ULTRAVIOLENCE

ULTRAVIOLENCE

Ultraviolence is a series of self-portraits taken in 2013 while Kitty was in a domestically violent relationship.

Trapped, suffocating, and in a vicious cycle of struggle and pain, picking up her camera was the only way she felt able to express some of the torment inside which desperately needed an outlet. These photographs are art - but they are the product of life and could easily have been the forerunner of death.

Domestic violence is a global problem that affects over 35% of women worldwide.

It is a violation of human rights.
